“To promote, support, and strengthen U.S.-Arab business and economic cooperation.” The National U.S.-Arab Chamber of Commerce (NUSACC), established over 40 years ago, is America’s longest serving organization dedicated to U.S.-Arab business. NUSACC is widely regarded as the voice of American business in the Arab world and the premier portal to the United States for Arab commercial enterprises. The mounting feeling for the need of strengthening fraternity bonds and consolidating steps enhancing economic cooperation among countries sharing common characteristics, objectives, and destiny had led to entertaining the idea of establishing a federation comprising the chambers of commerce, industry, and agriculuture in the arab Gulf states. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world’s largest business federation representing 3 million businesses of all sizes, sectors, and regions, as well as state and local chambers and industry associations. More than 96% of U.S. Chamber members are small businesses with 100 employees or fewer. After 1979, the relatively newly formed Arab Gulf, found their existence being put into a direct test. Due to the geopolitical closeness and their economically strategic location, the Kingdom of Bahrain, State of Kuwait, Sultanate of Oman, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates sought out a protective counter-alliance. With foreign investment operating in an intensely competitive world, countries need more than ever to develop efficient communication tools and appropriate promotional means in order to reach the global business community directly. GEOC’s mission is to advise and help public as well as private entities. |
